Castle & Key Tour + Keeneland Tailgating

Guests joined us for a road trip to Castle & Key in Frankfort, the former Old Taylor Distillery site dating back to the late 1800s.

The day began by meeting up at the Paddock Shops in Louisville. We started our morning off with Starbucks coffee, mimosas, bourbon-infused iced chai tea and breakfast snacks. We traveled together by bus to the distillery were welcomed with signature cocktails (French 75’s!) in the Shooking upon arrival. Marianne Barnes Eaves, Master Distiller and female trailblazer, led us through a personalized tasting covering history and neat tastings of Castle & Key gin and vodka.

Guests enjoyed a 1.5 hour tour of the 113 acre property, including the iconic Castle, Springhouse, warehouses, and gardens, learning about their restoration, principled distilling process and daring vision. We concluded the experience in the gift shop and hde the opportunity to browse around the grounds, purchase merchandise and spirits and buy signature cocktails at Taylorton Station.

The fun continued at Keeneland, the internationally renowned racecourse. We enjoyed an afternoon of tailgating on the “Hill” where guests could listen to Bluegrass music, watch live racing from a jumbo television screen, and wager bets or make their way inside the track to experience the racing firsthand.
